Brad Reeser Cooks Up a Delicious Dish with Fellow Edmondites

EDMOND, Okla. –  Brad Reeser and his team stirred up some friendly competition recently at the Edmond Mobile Meals Chili Cook-Off.julie4

The Brad Reeser team joined other local businesses and organizations, such as Citizens Bank, Webb Roofing, Life Squire, AC Owen, Back40 Design, MIDCON, Silver Leaf Gems, Stillwater National Bank, L. Harper Designs  to determine who makes the best chili in Edmond.julie2

Visitors paid $5 at the door to taste the chili,  and the money raised went to  Edmond Mobile Meals and its ‘March for Meals’.

‘March for Meals’ is an annual month of awareness for the cause of feeding the elderly and disabled in Edmond.

Mayor Charles Lamb began the cook-off with a proclamation signaling the start of the March for Meals initiative.

Citizens of Edmond and city leaders brought their appetite to julie3sample the delicious dishes.

The crowds were armed with bowls and were relentless to find their favorite chili and even battled rounds of heartburn along the way.

The Brad Reeser booth had people coming back for seconds and thirds, but was not crowned a winner in the end.

Brad spent all day making two gallons of delicious chili to prepare for the cook-off.  His wife, Julie, served up smiles and bowls of pipingjulie 1 hot chili, which they could top with cornbread and all the fixin’s.

Ultimately, it was up to the panel of celebrity judges, including UCO President Don Betz,  to decide the fate of the food.

Even thought we didn’t take the top prize or bragging rights, we all had a great time supporting Edmond Mobile Meals.

So, what’s Brad’s secret recipe?  He’s not telling!
