The Edmond Citizens Police Academy is Now Enrolling

The Edmond Police Department is now taking applications for their free 13 week Citizens Police Academy!

The course does not train citizens to become police officers, but it shows them the daily responsibilities, duties, and expectations of Edmond police officers.

The classes are also aimed at building more relationships with community members by teaching academy members about the Edmond Police Department, its policies and practices.

Some of the topics covered include accident investigation, crime prevention, crime scene investigations, firearms, and use of force.  Academy participants will also get to spend a day at the firing range!

The Fall Academy will being Sept. 1.  Classes are free and are held on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 9:00pm in the Downtown Community Center on 28 East Main.

All applicants must be at least 18, have no criminal record, and be an Edmond resident or working within the city limits.
