$3.2 million approved to start new trail system around Arcadia Lake

EDMOND – Edmond City leaders have decided to spend more than $3.2 million on a multipurpose trail around Arcadia Lake.

The money will go toward the design and construction on the first leg of the project.

The 18.8-mile trail around the lake will have multiple access points and will be the longest and widest trail available in the metro area to walkers, joggers, cyclists, and outdoor lovers.

The trail will be 18 feet wide and provide separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians.

Spring Creek Trail, the first section of the project, will cover 3.1 miles, starting just north of Fox Lake Lane and running east along the creek to Spring Creek Park in Arcadia Lake, according to NewsOK.

There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the paved Spring Creek Trail at the future site of a private wellness park at Fox Lane and the west I-35 Frontage Rd. at 9 am on Oct. 24.
